Description

This course is based on OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart X, Stairways and Ladders, including the ladder requirements in 29 CFR 1926.1053 and the training requirements in 29 CFR 1926.1060. It also draws on OSHA’s stairway and ladder safety resources and on manufacturer instructions. It covers hazard recognition, ladder selection, inspection, setup, safe use of stepladders, extension ladders, and fixed ladders, and stairway safety.

The course is intended for workers and supervisors in construction, telecommunications, industrial, and maintenance settings who use stairways and ladders. It is knowledge training. It is not a hands-on skills qualification, does not make anyone a competent or qualified person, and does not replace employer-specific authorization or site rules.

Learners who complete all lessons and pass the final exam receive a Vertical Academy completion certificate with a unique certificate number and QR code verification.
